Easter 2012

This was Tru's THIRD Easter (he is old), and it is the first one he was able to enjoy. :)  We began on Palm Sunday telling the Easter story each day.  We told him Jesus rode into Jerusalem humbly on a donkey, He tied up some loose ends during the week, He had a nice, big meal on Friday night with his students, and then He had to become a prisoner and be hung on a cross so He could die for our sins.  But on Sunday He conquered death!  He is alive!!

We intended to make Resurrection Cookies to drive the 'empty tomb' point home, but alas - we ran out of time.

On Saturday, our wonderful friends the Reynas came for Easter dinner!  We had ham, Nana's mac'n'cheese, deviled eggs, cranberries, olives, broccoli (small oversight on the intended green beans), and two delicious pies!!  Thank you, Reynas, for celebrating with us!  You are dear friends, and we are so glad to be stationed with you again (for the THIRD time!).

On Sunday morning, we were up super early!  We even had time to enjoy all the Easter Bunny left us before we headed to church to 'teach' Truie's class.

That is some serious loot from the Bunny.

The boys, all dressed up for church.

Yes!  That Easter Bunny knows exactly what I like!  (Baby Can Read, Vol. 3)

Ooo!  I LOVE these!  (window clings)

A quick explanation from Momma about hunting eggs.

He grasped the concept pretty quickly. :)

Oh, Momma.  Those ears are embarrassing.

Can I eat my chocolate while Momma takes our picture?  Numnumnum...

Our attempt at a family pic.  SOMEone just does not like to cooperate.  Here are 3 of the 50.
