A Week in the Life: Monday

Ugh, Mondays.  There is so much housework to be done.  We have a hard time getting excited about Monday around here:

But then I reminded Tru we had a Christmas party to attend!  Our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) gals put together a very cute morning of activities.

"Party today?!"

At the party, Ms Sharon told the children the Christmas story.  They all listened nicely except one (give you a hint who THAT was).  (He just wanted to play with all the fun Nativity things!)  After the story, we put together a picture frame.  Our friend Michelle who is a professional photographer was there taking Mommy and Me pics.  Maybe we should have dressed better?  Oh well!  After our picture, we decorated a Christmas cookie and sat at the table big-boy-style to gobble it up.  With sugar on board, it was time to get while the gettin' was good and hustle home!

That's when we did the house cleaning.  Borrrrrrrrrrrring.  After that it was nap time, and both Tru and I slept like rocks.

We had to ease into the afternoon...

...by watching our favorite show Sid the Science Kid.

Then it was downstairs for some music time, toy playing, and crafting!  Back upstairs to make a yummy dinner of bratwurst stew (made with turkey sausage).

Daddy got home, we ate, we cleaned up the mess, the boys wrassled each other on the couch, and then we did our Truth in the Tinsel lesson.  The reading was Luke 1: 9-25.  We talked about Zechariah who was visited by the angel Gabriel and told his wife would have a bouncing baby boy...even at her old age!

Picking out the Number 3 and looking at the clue...

It took all our hands to make the craft, so we weren't taking pictures.  Here's a picture of ol' Zechariah as Tru put him on the tree.  He has yarn hair, googly eyes, a nose of farfalle pasta, and a mouth of giant bubble wrap.  We POPPED the bubble-mouth because Zechariah lost the ability to speak as a result of not believing Gabriel about the baby.  Oops!  Shoulda listened, Zech!

And that is all.  Good night, Monday!
