Everything was looking good for an on-time departure UNTIL...the Stinky Diaper. The boldface for this IFE was executed in record time, but then Tru got sidetracked by hangers and toys. (He is obsessed with hangers.) Negotiations ensued and lasted much longer than necessary, but we finally got into the Red Car with the help of our friend Red Chocolate Treat (a York Peppermint Patty).
Today was an off-day for us at church, so we didn't have to teach the 18-month-old class...we got to just sit and listen. WOO HOO! It was a beautiful day, so Tru's class played outside.
After church, we began our Truth in the Tinsel lesson. We again read Isaiah 9:2-7. This time we discussed that Jesus was the foretold Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, and Prince of Peace Who would sit on David's throne forever and ever!
We made a crown for our Prince of Peace. First, we painted it purple (for royalty).
We let that dry during nap. After nap, we added jewels (colored beads) to our crown.
Then the boys put it on the tree.
We spent a little while just playing and crafting in the basement before I had to go to church for our Christmas musical rehearsal.
During a song for which I did not have to play, I checked my email and saw one from Jason, Subject: CSAFTEA: Not Impressed. In case anyone missed it, Jason is a member of a team that won a huge Air Force Award. He and 20 other folks took a Travis AFB guy's idea to use iPads in the cockpit in lieu of paper pubs and did all the research, acquisitions craziness, and so on to implement the idea and
save the AF a zillion dollars. Read about it here.
So, I thought, "Oh no! Who wasn't impressed?!"
And then I opened the attached picture:
Ha. :) Tough crowd, that one.
And that is all for Sunday! Tru is in bed alternating verses of Bless My Soul and telling Elmo and Cookie Monster to EAT IT (I guess I say that to him one or two or twelve thousand times a day). We are headed to the ol' TV for some chill time. Night!
