All Sorts of Fun Stuff

Truie got some new church clothes.  He's so handsome.

"Are you looking at my bum?  You bum looker!"

Helping Daddy.

He outgrew his rocking horse before he even had the coordination to play with it!

Wishing Trevor a Happy 1st Birthday!  He thinks Trevor is so old and wise compared to him.

This is how we help Momma sew:
Can you tell what he's doing?

Watching his shows!

And the best part!  Our good buddy Frank Fappiano came to Maxwell for a class and got to visit with us!  We all had a great time together.  It was so good to see you, Frank!

Valentine's Day

Truie had a lovely Valentine's Day.  He first posed for his card:

Then he secured a Valentine (Rant Rabbie).

Next, he asked Rant Rabbie if she wanted to share a bottle of the good stuff.

And then he received cards in the mail from Grammoo and Granddad, Aunt Ricke and Uncle Glen, and his buddies the Schindlers!  Here he is tasting Grammoo's and Granddad's card:

10 Months!

Truie turned 10 months old today.  He is a BIG boy, and he would like all his faithful readers to know that.  I absolutely cannot believe how big he is...where did my little baby go?  Everytime someone asks me how old he is when we're in public, they are shocked - apparently he looks like an 18-month old.

What he's up to:

Wearing 18-24 month clothes

Still has 6 teeth

Still wearing his cranial band.  He has improved 20% so far.  He has 2 more months to go, and if he improves 50%, he'll be within statistical norms.

Still will not eat finger foods or drink from a sippy cup.

Napping twice a day - a short 30-min one before our morning activity (gym, MOPS, or bible study) and a longer one at about 1130 (anywhere from 1 hr to 2 hrs).

Crawling!  He took his first crawling steps the day he turned 9 months old (hours after I posted that blog).  Rant Rabbie was here to witness it.

...and by crawling, I mean crawling everywhere and getting into everything

Houdini figured out how to escape his crib, so now the mattress is as low as it will go...I think he feels like he's in prison.  Since he can't see us when we walk in anymore, he pulls down the bumper to peak between the slats when he hears us open the door.  One little eyeball, on target.  There's no sneaking past him.

We're not sure HOW Houdini got out since he can't pull to standing yet...

He is tiring of his Jumperoo now that he has found freedom in movement.  What will I do?!

Chasing Harley the Cat all over the house.  She loves it.  She lets him get within about 12 inches, then moves a few more feet away.  Repeat.  They could go on for hours.

Giving kisses!  When I lean in for a kiss, he leans in and lets me smooch him.  I could do THAT for hours!  So sweet. :)

Playing our new game of 8 Seconds:  he likes to stand at the Jumperoo and hold on to the vertical pole, switching hands back and forth.  The unused hand sticks straight up in the air like he's riding a bull.

Still enjoying a great game of Chase with Momma and Daddy.  It's perfect for once he's entered his Mr. Crankypants time of day.

We've also learned that he loves the camera...for real.  If I pull it out, he starts posing.  That's one of the only ways I can make him stay still and stop squirming and crawling everywhere.  Observe:

Lions and Giraffes and Bears

 In this week's episode of
The Adventures of Truett

Tru chases down a herd of giraffe-looking creatures

Apparently, pictures are always better with beautiful girls:

After chasing down a couple of lions, Truett shows off his catch to Daddy:

Does this photo remind you of anyone?

Right down to the capitulatory roll!

Close examination of the next photo reveals Truett's reflection as he brandishes his chair and whip (somebody needs to control these beasts):

Harley would have been right at home in these cages with these other friendly felines:

And that concludes this week's episode.  Tune in next week as Truett attempts to jump up, up, and away from his jumparoo!!

Merry Christmas!

Needing little encouragement, Truett arose on Christmas morning with a twinkle in his eye.

As Rant Rabbie and Grammoo graciously divied up the goods,

Truett sat patiently eyeing his stack as it grew mountainous.

Ahh, at last!  Grammoo correctly deciphered his grunts as a sign that he was ready to GO.

Those presents didn't even see him coming.  Momma took pity and warned them of their violent future as he approached.

*Evil Laugh*

Oh, the carnage!

Grammoo and Granddad loved their presents!!

Hope your Christmas was as merry as ours!!

Tru's First Christmas Eve!

"Did the 3 Wise Men get to open presents on Christmas Eve?  NO."

However, due to the fact that it was his very first Christmas Eve, Santa's best-looking elf was awarded with the one-time opportunity to open a gift early.

After a thorough analysis, Truett digs in.

What's in there?  His very first Christmas present was a strategic ploy to increase his Christmas loot for years to come:  A mug and saucer for Santa's goodies:

Reindeer food:  A brilliant combination of oatmeal and glitter is then sprinkled on the lawn to attract and guide  Santa's reindeer to the target.

And so endeth our first annual Christmas Eve with Truett.  Merry Christmas!
