2010 Cattle Country Stampede

Jason and I were so sad to miss the Cattle Country Stampede in Dimmitt this year.  I tried to devise a plan that would deposit Tru and me on Mom's and Dad's doorstep in time for the ride, but I couldn't figure out how to get El Lightning McSpeedy there.  So, alas.  We had to ride vicariously through Dad, who had a fantastic ride, by the way.

Our buddy Chaun Gunstream put on a great event!  Thanks for doing all the work, Chaun.  It really is a super ride, on great roads, at a wonderful time of year, with fabulous people.  Please keep it going!  I know it will continue to grow as it becomes a fixture on the September calender.  We can't wait to ride it again as soon as we're back that way.

P.S. Thanks Mom and Chaun for the T-shirts!!! :)

P.P.S.  Enjoy the pics.  I re-captioned them. :)

Dad:  ready for a great ride!

Ready to roll!

Off we go!

Oh, blessed sight.

Dad and Chaun leaving a little late...?

Mmm...nummies...

Everyone loves a good rest stop.

What is this thing doing?!

Halfway there

What a great ride!!!  (And not a hair out of place.)

6 Months!!!

I can't believe our little Truett is 6 months old today!!  He has been the most amazing blessing, and we love (almost) every minute with him. :)

What he's up to these days:

Still loving his Jumperoo!
He has two teeth now - the bottom front ones
Taking almost all formula
Rice cereal...mmmm...
Rolling over back-to-front, and back again...all around his crib
Smiling and laughing alllllll the time
Flirting with all the ladies at the church nursery
Singing to Bunny every morning before being rescued from his crib
Sleeping for 7 - 10 hours before waking up at night (but then he is up for at least an hour)
Trying to eat his Rock-a-Stack
Really eying Harley the Cat

Oooo!  A puppy!

Look, Momma!  A puppy!

Can I....HAVE the puppy, Momma?

I love my puppy!

Cowboy Stinkypants!

Introducing:  Cowboy Stinkypants!

There's a new sheriff in town.

Boots.

Chaps.

Oh hello, Ladies.  I didn't see you there.  I'm just hangin' out.

Momma!  You're ruinin' my cool!

Yes, Ladies.  I am a real cowboy.

Ridin' my Jumperoo

Roundin' up my toys

I love you, Momma!

Celebrities!

Grammoo and Granddad are famous!  They were asked to ride the trike in Dimmitt's Harvest Days Parade this past Saturday.  Dad outfitted the Harley with some gorgeous new flag holders.  These aren't your average dinky little flags, either.  Nosiree.  Take a look.

P.S.  Of course First United Bank had the most parade entries.

P.P.S.  The Shack should cut them a check for all the free advertising!

Is that a BUG on the windshield I see?!  I'm embarrassed.

Those are some good lookin' flags.

FUB

FUB again

And FUB again.  Is that a different Mini?

What's a parade without old cars?

...and hoopties?

...and more old cars?

The cheerleaders still flock to Dad.  Some things never change, I guess.  Though, they are starting to look younger.

There they are!  Too cute!

Grammoo and Granddad: Labor Day 2010!

After much begging and pleading, Grammoo and Granddad decided to make the trek from Lubbock back to Montgomery for Labor Day weekend.  After all, that IS Parents' Weekend, I'm just sayin'.  Amazingly, they arrived on time and with their luggage.  The Montgomery aeropuerto isn't all that bad!

Truie was asleep when I got to the airport to pick them up.  He woke up in the back seat of the truck and looked right into Grammoo's face.  And just in case we were wondering if a 5-month-old would remember someone he hadn't seen in 2 months, he most certainly did.  He was SO excited to see her.  He knows his Grammoo.  After all, she was there when he came into the world...fed him some of his first bottles...changed some of his first diapers...gave him his first bath...gave him his first package of TENNIS BALLS...

Tru also had a GREAT time with Granddad, who can make him laugh and smile constantly.  :)  I don't know why I didn't get any pictures of it!  Truie could seriously watch Granddad like a TV.  The entertainment is endless.  I really need to get more pictures of their interactions.  They are just too funny together.

While they were here, we had lots of horsey rides on Granddad, a jillion bottles with Grammoo, took a tour of the Shoppes at Eastchase, let Momma and Daddy go to a movie, and even ate some cereal.  Here are some shots of our fabulous time!

New bib Grammoo got for me!

Mmm, ohmmmyeah...dat's da stuff...

Give it, Grammoo!

Granddad is educating us...Momma?  What are you doing?

OK, Momma, now you're just embarrassing me.  If I close my eyes, you'll go away.

See, Momma?  Grammoo rocks me to sleep!

So nice.  I like this better than crying to sleep.

Whoa!  Grammoo surprised by the flash!

MOMMA!  What was THAT?!

OK, Momma.  Stop it.

Night Night to Grammoo.  Until next time, Grammoo.  Will you be there when I open my eyes?

Zzzzzzzzzzzz....

He was actually jumping in his sleep, so when we heard the music from the other room, we thought he was playing contentedly.

Because it's funny...

Sometimes we surrender during tummy time...
