Tuesday

Ah, Tuesdays.  They are pretty crazy for us!  I'm not feeling very creative, so here's the rundown:

Jason didn't go into work today because he had to leave for a short TDY to Florida.  So, he got up with Tru and I slept in!  When I came downstairs, here is what I found:

We sure do love our new slide!

Then Jason took Tru upstairs to get dressed and wash face/brush teeth.  It always amazes me.  Here is what I hear:

And then order emerges.  Amazing.

Ready for school!

While Jason took Tru to school, I headed to the YMCA.  I just started working out again.  I'm enjoying it, but I hope I actually see results this time!

After the Y, I ran to the base to get gas, only to discover the hard way the Pay-At-The-Pump service was down.  In typical AAFES fashion, I had to wait in a line 12-people deep because only one register was open.  The lady standing at the other register made sure I knew she was 'CLOSED' while she checked her fingernails. Ugh.  Anyway, after getting gas, I ran to the cleaners to drop of a load of clothing.  Yes, I dry clean my pajamas.  I'm hardcore like that.

Then, I ran to the commissary.  Upon entering, I immediately noticed it was full of retirees.  Ohhhhhhhhh boy.  That about doubles the time it takes to get through there.  I dodged all the middle-of-the-aislers, the slow-walkers, and the ingredient-readers and literally jogged through with my list. I had to get home before Jason left!

Jason and I wolfed down a quick lunch, and then he hit the road.  He parks the truck on base, then takes the train to the airport.  So, he has to leave about 3 hrs prior to his takeoff time.

Bye, Brownie!

After Jason left, I had about 20 minutes to put away groceries, check my email, do a little internet shopping, and then get in the car to pick Tru up at school.

When I got to his classroom, he was still asleep!  I whipped out the camera to document that rarity, and the beep of the focus woke him up before the shutter ever fired. He startled awake...and that makes him CRANKY for a little bit.

Thankfully, I had a piece of chocolate in my pocket to smooth the transition. :)  So, after a quick diaper change and a hug from Ms. Lisa,

we were off to Belleville for Speech Therapy.  Oh - Ms. Lisa said Tru said his first word today!!  "NO!"  HA!  I guess that's the first word that you say when you don't talk until you're a toddler...  He did say it a couple more times today. :)  He also said what sounded like, "Push!"  And in the car on the way to Belleville, he 'sang' and danced with me to Audio Adrenaline's "I get DOWN!"  It was pretty funny.  He danced so hard he almost got out of his harness...

Currently, we are doing therapy at Memorial Hospital.  I'm in the process of changing it to Children's Hospital in St. Louis.  I love Tru's therapist here, but Children's has an AMAZING therapy room with a jillion HUGE toys, and he does a lot more verbalizing when he is engaged in gross motor activities.

Waiting for our appointment:

Here is Tru with Ms. Cheryl!  Ms. Cheryl had a helper today...Kelly, who is a student.  Tru flirted with her incessantly.

After therapy, we ran back home.  Tru watched Baby Can Read while I got dinner ready.

After:

Not much difference.  Anyone else have this problem?

Once I got the kitchen cleaned up, we headed up for bath.  We sure do love to splish splash!

We had to play with Scouty Dog for a few minutes. :)

Good night, Momma!

Cute! We have similar plate emptying scenarios here, but I try to let it go. As long as they're eating... :)
